“It is necessary to know of architecture when you're designing communities, because it is how people live, where people live - and being able to see that design process, and helping with that design process, I think will help to better communities in the future.”
Gary Glinsey attended the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app's Summer Studio in Classical Architecture during the summer of 2019. Since he graduated from the program, Gary has continued his studies at Hampton University, where he is a fourth-year architecture major pursuing his master’s degree. In this video, Gary reflects on how his experiences in the program have influenced his thinking on architectural design, and what he plans to do in the future with his training in classical architecture.
This interview is presented as part of the 2020 Summer Studio Retrospective, a four-week series of daily online content inspired by the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app's Summer Studio in Classical Architecture program and the many students who have been impacted through its unique course of study. You can find additional programs in this series here.
