A message from the President, Paul Gunther
In this my last monthly greeting, I have the honor to write about what seems the most hopeful measure of future promise: the vibrant network of regional and local ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app chapters. Their advent and continuing development signals an achievement we have forged together that is second to none. These satellite locations and the volunteers, donors, teachers, and program experts enlivening them assure a robust continuation of recent progress, whether offering well-tested core activity or experimenting in ways that spawn a symbiotic dialogue in all governing directions. They embody hopeful determination. Without question, recruiting and meeting the educational needs of new constituents occurs best on such diffuse frontlines where regional need is best known.
Please share my praise and confidence and sustain your engagement knowing that this organic organizational whole ends up benefiting one and all.
Just one case in point is the continuing spread of chapter awards programs. They now number six and can be discovered on the website along with the regular alerts we send about them—application announcements and winners alike—to members and friends standing by our hard-working sides.
The New York region offering, called the Stanford White Awards, is slated for Friday, December 6 in the downtown landmark Cross and Cross ballroom at 41 Broad Street, across from the New York Stock Exchange building. We welcome applications from across the nation and beyond for a recent project completed in the New York, New Jersey, and Fairfield County, CT regions. So spread word of this and all recognition offerings as contemporary classicists so richly deserve.
We applaud the event sponsors who have enrolled to date (sign on now!): Best & Co., Clark Construction, Flower Construction, John Murray Architect, Peter Pennoyer Architects, Premier Painting, Rusk Renovations, and Waterworks. I cite them as examples of those who, like you, step up on a number of related project fronts to ensure the encouraging well being which I have had the great good fortune of helping to shepherd these last ten rewarding years.
Thank you all for your trust and friendship. Enjoy summer’s end and take advantage of the . Progress with the leadership transition soon at hand will be reported to you as soon as it is official.
And always connect! That’s how our strength keeps building.
