On June 11, 2021, the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app welcomed Foster Lyons for the Continuing ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app course "Efflorescence: Causes and Prevention", presented as part of the Spring 2021 Health, Safety, and Welfare in Traditional Design Day.
This course is a primer in the causes and prevention of efflorescence on masonry.This course will enable participants to:
1. Identify the four conditions necessary for efflorescence to occur.2.Identify the primary cause of efflorescence in those unfortunate times when it does occur on a masonry assembly.3. Properly specify masonry materials so as to reduce the risk of experiencing efflorescence.4. Properly detail masonry assemblies so as to reduce the risk of experiencing efflorescence.
