Join Denver designer Tommy Matthews and discover the influence of the École des Beaux-Arts in the Rockies.
Denver, CO grew to maturity during the golden age of art and architecture known as the American Renaissance. Part of its historic legacy is the fully realized system of treelined parkways and urban parks, which remarkably extends outside the city into the Rocky Mountains. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead Jr., the Denver Mountain Parks are interconnected by scenic roadways and punctuated by classical pavilions designed by architect Jacques Benedict with a rustic handling of local materials.
