In 2015, the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app (ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app) and Marymount School of New York launched New Heights, a weeklong program to introduce eighth-grade students to the practice and appreciation of architecture. One of the goals of the program was to inspire students to consider architecture and design as career paths. Since then, thousands of students have attended the program, and the program has also expanded to other schools.
In 2023, the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app followed up with a Marymount student who first discovered her passion for architecture through the New Heights program. Caroline was an eighth-grader at Marymount when she was introduced to the world of architecture and design, and her interest in the field quickly grew. Now in her senior year of high school, Caroline recently attended the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app's New York Intensive in Classical Architecture in preparation for studying classical architecture in college. In this recent interview, Caroline reflected on how she first encountered the study of architecture through New Heights, and how she is "beyond excited" to continue her studies in college.
