Trained in architecture and interior design in his native Panama, Fernando Wong turned to landscape design after moving to the United States in 2001, and along with his partner, Tim Johnson, founded Fernando Wong Outdoor Living Design in 2005. All the projects featured here are located in tropical climes, including Miami, Palm Beach, and Lyford Cay on Nassau. With a foreword by Martha Stewart and commentary by noted interior designers including David Netto, Miles Redd, and Amanda Lindroth, who decorated some of the homes for which Wong created the gardens, this book provides gardeners everywhere with fresh inspiration.
Tim Johnson is the CEO of Fernando Wong Outdoor Living Design, an award-winning boutique landscape architecture firm he founded with Fernando in Miami Beach twenty years ago. The firm has grown every year since its inception and opened a second Palm Beach office in 2012. In addition to residential projects around the world commercial design includes the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club in Miami, the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, the Four Seasons Private Residences in Fort Lauderdale, the Gasparilla Inn & Beach Club in Boca Grande, the Seminole Golf Club, the Starwood Luxury Collection Bardo and Mansion Hotels in Savannah, the Lyford Cay Club and a National Park for the Bahamian Government.
