Steven Semes has been a practicing architect for over 40 years, with degrees from the University of Virginia (B.S.Arch) and Columbia University (M.Arch). He is the Director of Michael Christopher Duda Center for Preservation, Resilience, and Sustainability, at the University of Notre Dame and is a professor for their study abroad program in Rome. Semes has authored several works, including The Future of the Past: A Conservation Ethic for Architecture, Urbanism, and Historic Preservation (2009) and The Architecture of the Classical Interior (2004).
